I’m sure it’s no surprise to anyone by now that music is a big part of my life, not the least of reasons being that I’m married to a musician. True story: he and his musician colleagues provided partial inspiration for my Heartless Few series.
Anyway, I digress. So, music is a big part of my life, and I have a series based around the music industry, and as I think I’ve mentioned before, I think in pictures, so it’s probably not too much of a surprise to learn that I generally have a soundtrack for each book I write.
This is often music that literally accompanies the writing process for a particular book–so it’s my soundtrack for those characters and that story. The songs on it normally have connection to a particular element of the storyline, or to one or more of the characters and their personality characteristics, even to a place/places mentioned in the story, or the “mood” of the song will match the book in some way, and provide a great addition to the narrative.
Zed is an angsty rollercoaster of a ride of emotion and plot twists, which is reflected in the songs chosen for this one.
Listen along as you read, or at any time, and feel free to let me know your thoughts, or even suggest songs to add!
